Carefully thread the modified 2mm spoke onto the top of the spoke nut and lightly tighten the modified slotted driver into the slot. Now the nut can easily be manipulated through the wall of the velo rim and onto the spoke. Plus and equals signs are taped to the shell for convenience when counting turns. I like to turn the spoke nut backwards until it clicks before turning right-handed and starting my count. Spoke nuts also referred to as nipples.
